4. ANALYZING

Basic Analysis (known as Time Analysis) will calculate, for each activity, the Earliest possible dates, the Latest dates by which the activity must be completed and Total Float. The calculation will take into account activity durations and relationships, any imposed dates and any progress information.Whenever a change is made to durations, relationships, imposed dates or progress, a new analysis must be undertaken.

Time Analysis can be invoked by clicking Time Analyse in the Barchart or Logic Drawing}. Alternatively it can be invoked by clicking the Time Analysis icon in the main menu Toolbar.

Various options are provided for modelling purposes. For now click OK}

If changes were made which may affect logic integrity, the Loop Detector function will be automatically invoked. Loop detector will inform you of any unconnected activities (Dangles) and also of any serious logic problems such as loops. If you receive Warnings you must be aware of them, but they can be ignored and analysis continued. If you receive Errors then analysis will not take place until you have resolved them. After analysis activities will have new scheduled dates.
