GENERATING A REPORT
Click on Report Designer/Generator Icon in Toolbar. A window will appear.
The above screen allows you to use a previously designed report.For now we will design a new noe. Click OK.
This window allows you to: Select at a high level, activities you wish to see in the report. e.g. All Activities except completed ones. Filter activities by specifying detailed criteria. e.g. Activities with Float less than 5 and whose dates fall between 1stJan96 and 31stJan96. Set the sequence(s) you wish to see the report in. e.g. by Responsibility and Earliest Dates. Choose the format. e.g. Barchart For now click OK.
This window allows you to design your bar chart. viz: The time period required. Whether vertical and/or horizontal lines are required. The size of the chart. Any size you like. The format required for the Calendar. What you would like included on the chart. e.g. Holidays, Symbols, Milestones etc. The design of the bars. The date window required. The schedules to be shown. For now click OK.
This window allows you to select text for the left of the chart. Clicking on a field not only selects it but also specifies the order. Column headings may also be edited. For now click on Description. Click on Duration. Click OK.
Based on your design, PLANTRAC-OUTLOOK gives you information on how the space is used and comes up with a suggestion. You can choose to redesign. For now click Accept. i.e. we are going to accept PLANTRAC-OUTLOOK's suggestion.
We can now save this design for future use. i.e. the next time we want a similar report we don't have to go through all the design windows. From the first screen we can select to use a saved specification. Click OK. The report generator will be invoked and the report produced in a file. The name of the file will be displayed. |
