RESOURCE SCHEDULING

It is very important to know the size of any resource problems at the earliest schedule. Therefore it is important to first do Resource Aggregation. After studying the results from aggregation we can decide to:

1. Take no further action because there are no excesses (Requirements greater than Availabilities) or the excesses are not significant.

2. See if excesses can be minimized without delaying the project's finish (Resource Levelling) or

3. See what the end date will be if Requirements did not exceed Availabilities (Resource Limited).

RESOURCE LEVELLING

Select Resource Scheduling Icon.

The following window wil be displayed:

Click Levelled for Type of Scheduling.

Click OK

Resource levelling will now be performed. All Critical activities will have their requirements calculated and loaded into the resource database. All non-critical activities will be examined from Early Start to Late Start (i.e. within its Float) to see if a better fit is possible. If there is a better fit the requirements will be calculated and loaded into the resource database and the Levelled Schedule dates adjusted to reflect its new position.

Note that Resource Levelling will not take affect if there are no non-critical activities.

From Main menu Click Resource Histogram Icon to view resource results.

FAST and EASY CHECK on CALCULATIONS
