SPREADSHEET Project data may be entered and edited using a Spreadsheet. This method is particularly useful for editing data and giving activities codes. It is totally compatible with the other input/edit methods and may be used interchangeably. Using a Spreadsheet is simple. Type appropriate data in each cell and Tab to next cell or click in the required cell.
Click on Spreadsheet icon. A Spreadsheet set-up window will be displayed.
A number of convenient column selections are available including you being able to design your own. For now Click OK. The Spreadsheet will display.
Place Mouse On Act No. in heading line and click. The entire column will be highlighted. Click Edit in menu and click Add. A window to enter a Factor will appear. Type 10 and click OK. This is an easy way of entering data with a pattern. Place Mouse on Cal in heading line and click. The entire column will be highlighted. Click Edit in menu and click Replicate. A window to enter a value will appear. Type 5 and click OK. This is an easy way of entering the same value in several rows. For each activity type its description and enter its duration. If there are no predecessors to an activity enter a start date in the ImpStart column. After all activities have been entered click File in menu and click Save. Click File in menu and click Exit to close. INSERTING NEW ROWS Click anywhere on the row after which you wish to have lines inserted. Click Edit and Click Insert Rows. A window for number of rows will appear. Type the number of rows you wish inserted and click OK. The specified number of new lines will appear. DELETING ROWS Click in the grey cell on very left of the row you wish to delete. Click Edit and Click Remove Row. A window requesting confirmation will appear. The row will be removed. EDITING A CELL Double-click in the required cell. The data will be highlighted. If the whole contents are to be changed, type the new contents. If only part of the contents are to be changed, drag the mouse over the area to be changed and type the changes. OTHER SPREADSHEET FUNCTIONS Numerous other functions are available such as Making Relationships, copying, pasting, sorting, printing, adding and removing columns.
